I enjoy the grittiness of the buildings, and the unique, surprises that city life has in store. The only subjects I will not take pictures of are the Amish, and Amish life. They themselves do not believe in photos, and out of respect for their culture, I refrain from photographing them. We were just in Lancaster, PA last Saturday, and I rarely used my camera, preferring just to enjoy the ambiance that is created in a land without electricity, etc. Simple lifestyle, a nice reminder, and quite refreshing. I always see awesome shots i want to take - when i do not have my camera. You are so smart to take it with you everywhere. The shoes picture CRACKED ME UP! that one actually compels me to ask "what's the story here?" and that is yet another reason that the vision medium of photography is so vital to engaging people in the story!! (I am also partial to the shot of the man trying to eat the fire ;) having the camera with you at all times is KEY!! I always see awesome shots i want to take – when i do not have my camera. And the privacy of not having neighbors peer into your house because the windows are lined up and less than 2 feet apart like most new construction around here. If I didn't already live in my old neighborhood with yards bigger than the houses (and awesome neighbors, to the point of installing a gate in our fences) i would be sighing over this house more than i already am!! ooh I LOVE the critters!!!
